keto Tom and Jerry Batter: A low carb twist on a Holiday Classic (1)

This low carb twist on a classic holiday drink is basically going to knock your little keto socks off this season.

This Keto Tom and Jerry Batter can be made in minutes before a holiday party.

I love to make this Low Carb Tom and Jerry Batter with some bourbon however for the underage party guests you can add the batter to hot milk or water instead.

The Classic Non Keto Tom and Jerry Batter

My mother in law first introduced me to the Tom and Jerry Batter a few years ago during Christmastime.

She makes a delicious high carb non keto Tom and Jerry Batter that my family enjoys every Christmas.

For this reason, this year , I decided to make one that I can enjoy without the sugar and I re-created this delicious Keto Tom and Jerry Batter for myself.

Check out this cool guy waxing about the old school Tom and Jerry. My recipe is quite similar to the classic recipe featured in this video however there are slight differences still.

KETO AND ALCOHOL: SO BASICALLY…

When you drink alcoholic drinks your body sees the Keto Tom and Jerry Batter when mixed with alcohol as toxic.

Your body will break the alcohol down immediately. It will stop burning fat until the alcohol has cleared your system.

It is for that treason why alcohol will not kick you out of ketosis but put your ketosis on pause rather.

When you drink alcohol, your body is going to start breaking it down immediately because your body sees it as toxic.

LOW CARBS = LIGHTWEIGHT!

Another important thing to remember when drinking Keto Tom and Jerry batter or any other alcohol on a keto diet is how you are now a lightweight.

Remember when you have not consumed a lot of sugar in the day it will take a lot less alcohol to get you drunk or buzzed.

Financially this is amazing but beware of accidentally making an ass out of yourself at the company Christmas party.

Ingredients

  • 6 meduim eggs
  • 6-8 TBS Powdered Swerve
  • 1 TBS Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 Tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/4 Tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1/4 Tsp All Spice
  • 20 drops liquid stevia
  • 1/2 Tsp Cream of Tartar Optional
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1 shot Burbon or Wiskey

Special Equipment

  • 1 Metal or Glass Bowl
  • 1 Hand Mixer
  • 1 Shot Glass
  • 1 Kettle
  • 1 Tom and Jerry Set I found mine at a local thrift shop.

Instructions

  1. Bring the eggs to room temperature. If your eggs are cold and you are in a time crunch, place the eggs in a bowl filled with warm water for about 5 minutes. This will bring the eggs up to room temperature quickly.

  2. Separate the eggs into two bowls. I like to use the Tom and Jerry Serving bowl for the egg whites and the yolks in the metal bowl.

  3. Add the Vanilla, stevia, spices and salt to the egg yolks and beat using the whisk attachment on the hand mixer until combined. Add 3-4 TBS or powdered Erythritol to the egg yolks and beat until combined.Keep whipping until the eggs are a little bit bigger.

  4. Using the hand mixer again beat the egg whites using the whisk attachment for about 45 seconds or until bubbles start to form. Add the Cream of tartar and beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

  5. Slowly add 3-4 TBS of powdered erythritol to the egg whites while mixing until combined.

  6. Fold the egg yolks into the egg whites.

  7. Boil water using your kettle. Fill the cups about three quarters of the way up with hot water. Add a shot or less of Alcohol to the cup. Pour about 1 TBS or so of the Tom and Jerry Batter to the top of the drink. Sprinkle ground nutmeg on top of the drink. The batter should keep until the next evening depending on how stiff your peaks are and how fine the powdered sweetener is. Drink responsibly
