What’s the Challenge?

The2024 Reading Challenge poster features 40 unique reading prompts. Each time you complete a prompt, you get to scratch off the poster to reveal a hidden image. For example, "The Shortest Book on your TBR" - once you read the shortest book on your TBR shelf (shortest in length, shortest in height, the rules are open to interpretation!), you can scratch off the image underneath!

The challenge is not just about reading more, but also about exploring new genres, authors, and book lengths.

To make it even more exciting, we’ve shared specific prompts on our social media pages, like our first one featuring books such as Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn, and The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. We have loved the engagement from all of you!

Why We Are Loving This Year’s Reading Challenge!

Increases Reading Diversity: By following prompts, you’ll find yourself picking up books you might never have considered before. Who knows, you may just meet your new favorite author or discover a new genre you hadn’t thought of trying!

Builds a Reading Habit: Setting a goal of 40 books gives you a target that is attainable. The act of scratching off each completed prompt is so satisfying and we find that it motivates you to keep going.

Community and Connection: Joining a reading challenge connects you with a community of fellow book lovers, and we love our community engagement. There is something about sharing your progress and recommendations that makes reading a shared experience.

Prizes and Rewards: We believe that everyone should get rewarded for brilliant work! To make it even more exciting, completing the challenge could win you a free mystery book from our past selections or special editions!

Personal Growth: As we are sure you know, reading has a host of benefits. Each book you read doesn’t just offer you a moment to partake in your favorite hobby or escape for a moment; each book also offers new perspectives and insights.

Fun and Entertainment: Let’s be honest, reading is one of the best forms of entertainment around and a challenge adds an element of fun and excitement to your reading routine.
